Orbitofrontal Cortex

The orbitofrontal cortex is the most anterior part of the prefrontal cortex, located above the orbits of the eyes, and is involved in higher-order cognitive processes such as decision-making, reward anticipation, and behavioral control. It receives reciprocal connections with the amygdala and ventral striatum, integrating emotional and motivational information into goal-directed behavior.
